Students expected to purchase The following plays will be studied on the module: Hamlet, Othello, Julius Caesar, The Winter’'s Tale, Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, The Merchant of Venice, A Midsummer Night'’s Dream, Henry IV, Part I. There are many different editions of Shakespeare'’s works. You may wish to purchase the plays individually. The Palgrave Macmillan RSC editions are useful, as of course are the Routledge Arden editions. If you wish to buy a complete set of the plays, choose one which includes a good deal of useful critical material. You are advised to buy the following text: Greenblatt, Stephen, et al., eds.
